Lauren Lane, senior swim captain, announced her commitment to Loyola Maryland via Instagram over the weekend.

Lane was a key part of the 2022 state championship team for the Blue Devils. She swam in the 100-meter backstroke, 50-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle and 500-meter freestyle in the Union County Championships this past February. Lane also competed in the Meet of Champions, swimming in the 100, 200 and 500-meter freestyle prelims.

Lane will join the Patriot League with the Greyhounds for the 2023-24 season. Loyola finished sixth in the Patriot League Championships this past season, after joining the conference in 2013.

Lane said the school was “exactly the school I was looking for.” Lane also explained that she is looking forward to being pushed and performing her best, and felt she could do that with the Greyhounds.

Lane’s goals for the upcoming season are to repeat last season’s success and bring another county and state title home for the Blue Devils.
