On Oct. 11, senior Logan Revock announced his commitment to play baseball and further his academic career at Muhlenberg College via Instagram.
Revock’s baseball career began very early at just four years old. From that point on, baseball stuck, and he played it throughout his adolescent years. The Westfield funnel kept a tight grip on him as a prospect, developing him all the way from little league to now, a starter on varsity.
Over the years, Revock fell more in love with his role as a pitcher. He said, “I feel like what made me love baseball and specifically pitching was the control you have on the mound. The entire game is around the pitcher, and everyone is always watching what you are doing.”
With limited opportunities to pitch freshman year, Revock flew under the radar, swinging between the freshman and JV teams, honing his craft on his own. The lights began to shine on Revock more during his sophomore year, when he was the main reliever and closer on varsity. Junior year, Revock was the second starter, but now is expected to have a crucial role on his senior year team.
Revock has put in countless hours, constantly determined to better his craft, an effort recognized and appreciated by Brian Sloan, assistant coach for WHS baseball. “He has worked in the bullpen, becoming more consistent with his mechanics, making subtle changes to his motion, and learning the little things about being a pitcher,” said Sloan.
Revock has gone his entire career with tremendous support coming from his family. One of the most influential people in his baseball journey as a whole was his father. Revock discussed the overflow of support his father provided him and stated, “He’s the one who introduced me to baseball to begin with, and he’d always help me practice when I was younger. He was always the one who would drive me to every game I had, and he was my coach for my entire little league career.”
Another key member of Revock’s accomplishments is his mother, Liana Revock. She expressed how the energy Logan brings to baseball is the same for everything he does in his life. Thrilled for Logan’s next couple of chapters, she said, “We can’t wait to see what’s in store for him during his senior high school baseball season, and when he steps on the field at Muhlenberg. We are excited that he will be close enough for us to come watch.”
High school teammate Brian Jordan has grown up on the field with Revock and has been by his side during his journey to becoming the athlete he is today. Jordan spoke very highly of Revock saying, “He is the type of player you want on your team. He is a leader out there and everyone trusts him, and we know every game is winnable if he is on the mound.”
Revock is extremely impactful both on and off the field. He not only brings a profound leadership presence, but also high-level, consistent play to any field he steps on.
His plans to attend Muhlenberg will propel both his baseball and academic careers to the next level as he looks to major in either business or finance. The competition within the conference in which Mulhenberg stands was especially desirable to Revock as he was making his commitment decision. What sealed the deal was the atmosphere of both the school and the team, which ultimately Revock couldn’t turn down.
