On Oct.2, senior Anthony Narciso announced his commitment to play baseball at Juniata College via Instagram.
Narciso has been playing and watching baseball since he was five years old. Since then, he has played for the WHS varsity baseball team as well as various club teams, including RCBC.
Narciso has been a key contributor for the WHS boys baseball team since his freshman year both on the mound and at bat. During Narciso’s sophomore year the team won the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Championship and continued their run into the state finals where they fell short to 28-3 Cherokee.
Before Narciso was sidelined the majority of his junior season due to inflammation in his UCL and a strained tricep, he finished his sophomore season with 21 strikeouts and a 2.86 ERA on the mound.
Located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Juniata College is a Division III program competing in the Landmark Conference. The Juniata Eagles baseball team finished their 2025-2026 season with an overall record of 13-27.
One of the reasons Narciso selected Juniata college to continue his athletic and academic career was because of the inviting atmosphere he experienced on campus for the first time. “The coaching staff and the players were both very welcoming which caught my attention and made me feel more comfortable when I saw campus initially,” Narciso said.
At Juniata College, they offer a program of Emphasis where you are able to combine multiple majors. Narciso plans on majoring in business with either economics, finance or management.
Senior Teammate Peter Cabrales commented on Narciso’s worth ethic and encouragement on and off the field. “Regardless of Anthony fighting multiple injuries last season he was always supporting everyone when they got up to bat and in the field, which means a lot coming from such an experienced player,” he said.
“Anthony is an incredibly hard worker and knows how to both mentally and physically prepare for any opponents we battle. I’m excited to see him make an immediate impact at Juniata’s program next year,” said head coach Jay Cook.
“I’ll miss the sense of family and brotherhood that has been created on the team the past 4 seasons,” Narciso said in regard to this being his final year playing for WHS. Nonetheless, Narciso is eager to get back on the field and help the Blue Devils make yet another championship run.
