Senior Brandon Love, a star football player, announced his commitment to Susquehanna University on Friday via Instagram.

Love, standing at 6 feet 3 inches and 235 lbs, is a tough and intelligent defensive lineman. These qualities allowed him to pressure quarterbacks this season, leading to defensive success for the Blue Devils. Love was one of the sack leaders for the Blue Devils and was a major contributor to Westfield’s 8-3 record.

Love will be joining the River Hawks next fall, a private liberal arts college that competes at the Division III level in the Centennial Conference. Susquehanna, located in Selinsgrove, PA, ended last season with a record of 10-1 and took first place in its conference.

“I’m looking forward to the style of defense that Susquehanna plays. They love to get after the quarterback, and that’s exactly what I’m about,” Love explained.

Love will be joining fellow defensive lineman and Westfield teammate Sergio Cabrera at Susquehanna.

“I’m very excited to play with Sergio next year. It’s going to be very fun to play with a kid in college who I’ve been playing with since 5th grade. It’s not something a lot of people can say they got to do,” said Love.

Love was recruited by multiple schools after the season, but ultimately Susquehanna’s campus and atmosphere are what led to his decision. “The school has everything that I want,” said Love.
