Chris Rossetti, a senior defensive back on the varsity football team committed to Brown University over this summer to continue his athletic and academic career.

Brown, an Ivy League and a Division I university, interested Rossetti because of the “winning environment”. Brown ranks number seven overall in the 2023 Ivy League standings, according to foxpsorts.com, and is so far 0-1 this fall season. Brown seeks many wins this season leading their team with their mission statement, “integrity, strength in community, and competitive spirit.”

Providence, RI is the home of this reputable university and has a reputation for being a top-tier college since being deemed an Ivy League university in 1935. Brown today ranks number nine in the overall colleges in the U.S. according to usnews.com. Majoring in business, entrepreneurship, and organizations, Rossetti thinks this learning track will “set [him] up great for the future.”

Rossetti has been playing football since he was six years old, starting his career in flag football and playing for the PAL football program in Westfield alongside his best friends. He then followed through with the PAL football program until middle school, when he finally began his high school football career. Rossetti started his high school career strong by earning his first starting position on varsity as a sophomore during the playoffs. Rossetti believes, “from there [he] got engaged with the sport and the team.”

Rossetti began to think of playing in college after his junior year. After his junior season, coaches began to reach out to him, and the recruiting process officially began for Rossetti.

“Always be willing to learn, be willing to be comfortable in an uncomfortable environment, and always believe in yourself”. These are continuous phrases Rossetti’s father has implemented regarding his football career and his life. These phrases have stuck with Rossetti, leading him to this point in his career and this ultimate goal of success.

Rossetti and his family are thrilled for his next four-year journey at Brown to commence due to the “supportive coaching staff” and the staff “believing in Chris and his abilities” according to Rossetti’s father. But before this journey begins, Rossetti is ready to finish out his last season as a Blue Devil before he starts his next fall season off with the Bears.
