Ethan Composto, a star wrestler, announced his commitment to Gettysburg College on Sunday.

Composto is a versatile and quick wrestler with countless achievements to go along with his phenomenal wrestling statistics. Composto was named co-captain of the Westfield wrestling team and has wrestled all four years on varsity. He has a mind-blowing career record of 79-10, and in his junior season alone, Composto finished with a brilliant record of 29-6. On top of this, Composto placed first in the Union County Tournament and top-12 in the State Championships.

Composto loves the atmosphere the wrestling program at Gettysburg has to offer and didn’t hesitate at all to make his decision. “I chose Gettysburg because the coaching staff really made me feel like the team was really close together and a family,” he said. “The coaches were really cool, and it was overall an amazing experience on my visit.”

Composto will be joining a Bullets team that went 2-9 during the 2021-22 season. Composto looks to be an important addition to the Bullets, who compete at the Division III level and potentially lead Gettysburg to a Division III national title.

On top of the wrestling program, Composto loves the academic opportunities Gettysburg offers. “History is my favorite subject, and Gettysburg is filled with history so I have a lot of options of what I could major in on top of my wrestling career there,” he said.

While this commitment was a huge step in Composto’s wrestling career, he isn’t finished with his time at Westfield. After falling short in previous years, Composto hopes to help the wrestling team win the entire Union County Tournament and place higher in the state tournament. He and his teammates have been working extremely hard, and Composto hopes he can improve to achieve these goals during his senior season.
