Olivia Rosario, a senior goalkeeper on the girls soccer team, announced her commitment to Agnes Scott College via Instagram on Sunday.
Rosario has been a member of the girls varsity soccer team since her junior year and was a member of the state championship team in 2021. She finished her high school soccer career with 14 saves and started 1 game as a senior. Rosario not only competes on the soccer field, but is a member of the girls varsity hockey team, where she was named co-captain. She finished with 45 saves this hockey season. Rosario also plays club soccer at NJ Elite.
Rosario will be joining the Scottish Terriers next fall. Agnes Scott, a Division III program, is located just outside of Atlanta in Decatur, Georgia, and competes in the USA South Athletic Conference. Rosario will look to lift the Scotties to a winning season after they finished with a 2-12-1 record. Agnes Scott is a small liberal arts college ranked in the nation as one of the most beautiful campuses with its Gothic and Victorican architecture.
Rosario also considered Savannah College of Art and Design and Hollins University to further her education. However, Agnes Scott stuck out to Rosario as the place she wanted to pursue her athletic career.
“I chose Agnes College because it’s right next to Atlanta, it has a good study abroad program, it has a good art program,” said Rosario. “I am able to continue playing soccer and I liked the team when I met them.”
Rosario also admitted that the warm weather was a factor that appealed to her when deciding, as well as the fact that Agnes Scott is a women’s college.
Rosario hopes to bring the success from her high school team to the next level and translate that winning mentality into the Agnes Scott program.
