On Oct. 25 senior Liam Sullivan announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Pennsylvania State University at Abington.

Sullivan has been a key member of the Blue Devil baseball team throughout his high school career. Last season, the Blue Devils posted a strong 20-7 record and advanced all the way to the Group 4 state final, where they ultimately fell to Cherokee, 6-0.

As a junior, he recorded 17 hits and 12 RBI’s. Sullivan has had a lot of memorable moments with his teammates throughout his years. He stated, “My favorite moment so far in my career was winning the state sectional final against Ridge my junior year.”

Penn State Abington is a public university located in Abington, Pennsylvania. The school offers the same student resources of Penn State but on a smaller campus with roughly 3,500 students.

During the summer Liam plays on Iron Nine NJ Baseball Club with many of his high school teammates. Sullivan stated, “I’ve played club and high school baseball with the same group of guys all my life and I feel that is the biggest reason why I love the game so much.”

Senior Logan Revock who has been a part of Liam’s baseball career all his life had positive words to say after his commitment. He stated, “Liam is one of the hardest working teammates I have ever played with and I believe that is what got him to where he is now.”

The Penn State Abington Nittany Lions play in the United East Conference at the NCAA Division III level. The Nittany Lions had a solid record of 17-20 this year. A standout game from last year’s team was a 17-6 dominant win over Lakefland University.

Head coach Jay Cook has coached Sullivan throughout his whole high school career and only had good things to say about him. “Sullivan has been a top leader on the team and ever since he was a freshman his mindset to win was always spot on,” Cook said. “He has a bright future ahead but he still has one more season as a Blue Devil with more to prove.”

With one season left before he advances into his college career, Sullivan wants to finish strong with Westfield. “I have one more season left and I am going to give it my all because it will be my last time on the field with my teammates,” he said.
