On January 27, senior Daniel Berardi announced his commitment to Muhlenberg College for wrestling via Instagram.

Muhlenberg College is a private liberal arts college located in Allentown, PA. It is a relatively small school with around 1800 undergraduate students, competing at the Division III level in the Centennial Conference.

Berardi has been wrestling since he was in first grade, and moved to Westfield just four years ago; over the years, Berardi was confident that he wanted to wrestle at the collegiate level. After visiting Muhlenberg’s campus, Berardi knew that it was where he saw his future. “I decided to commit to Muhlenberg because when I visited, I really liked the team and the coaches,” said Berardi. “However, a big adjustment that is going to come with the transition is going to be wrestling at higher weight classes”.

Berardi has contributed to the Westfield Wrestling team in many ways, and will be leaving a large impact on the program, as he will be leaving his senior season as a quad-captain. Some of Berardi’s biggest achievements throughout his years as a blue devil have been winning the region tournament in the 2025 season, and earning his 100th win.

As a teammate, senior quad-captain Jake Zemsky greatly sees Berardi’s contribution to the team. “He has shown leadership as he has helped out many of our underclassmen wrestlers reach their full potential including his brother. He worked with him everyday last year, and helped him make regions,” said Zemsky.

Zemsky is confident that Berardi will carry over this success at the collegiate level, and believes that he will thrive at Muhlenberg. “He will bring the team morale up by being a great guy both in the room and outside of the room and overall have a great impact on Muhlenberg’s weak spots” said Zemsky. “He has overall left an extremely positive impact on the Blue Devils by pushing all of the younger kids past their limits in the wrestling room and helping out light weights get better.”2

“As the season comes to an end, I am looking forward to continuing improving, and doing anything I can to help the team”. With his previous success, Berardi is looking forward to seeing where his collegiate career will take him in the years to come.
